History
This book was created as a final project for my typography class as we had to apply our skills and knowledge of page layout and design.
Though it’s goal was to be a world wide font, Antique Olive only really stayed in France until it became available through cold type. It also became offered by the adobe systems
Antique Olive and it’s different styles can be seen in projects such as the Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift and the previous Air France logo
Type Specimen Book
Antique Olive
Type specimen books are books made to display a typeface and their applications. Antique Olive is a French typeface created by the rebound French designer Roger Excoffin. Getting its name from the foundry Fonderie Olive. Antique Olive was mentioned to be the French equivalent of Helvetica and Univers.
The book is supposed to be a useful tool for those looking for specific fonts. Or it can be used to learn a bit more about the font as well. Here you can see the different styles as well.
